Polyimide tape, also known as Kapton tape, PI high-temperature resistant tape, gold finger tape, etc.

This tape is coated with a modified pressure-sensitive adhesive using a polyimide film as the substrate.
PI tape can be divided into two types based on different adhesives: PI silicone tape and PI acrylic tape.
According to their appearance, they generally come in brown and black, transparent, green, red, etc.

Product Characteristics:

Polyimide substrates have excellent electrical insulation properties, heat resistance, and flame retardancy.
The substrate is soft, acid and alkali resistant, corrosion-resistant, easy to peel off, and leaves no residue.
PI film can withstand temperatures above 500 ºC, and if coated with modified silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive, its temperature resistance can reach 300 ºC.
If coated with acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive, its characteristics are excellent adhesion and weather resistance, with a temperature resistance of up to
180 ºC.

Product Application:

PI silicone tape is mainly used for applications that require high temperature resistance or high initial adhesion insulation bundling, such as insulation bundling of H-grade motor and transformer coils, wrapping and fixing of high temperature resistant coil ends, thermal resistance protection for thermometers, entanglement of capacitors and wires, and other bonding insulation under high temperature working conditions, temperature protection of PCB sheet metal fingers and electronic components during SMT, external wrapping of polymer lithium batteries, etc. PI acrylic tape is commonly used for insulation protection of PCB boards, fixing and wrapping of wire harnesses, interlayer and outer wrapping of transformer coils, external insulation of lithium batteries, etc.
